Evie and Kick have known eachother pretty much their whole lives, they grew up with eachother, their families as were they. Protecting eachother, looking after eachother, best friends forever, and also in love with eachother.
Families ripped apart, hearts broken and different life choices made make it harder for love to just. be. enough. When another tragedy strikes and they are brought together, Kick is ready to claim his woman once and for all while Evie is convincing herself their time, their chance at love has been and gone. Both as stubborn as each other; Kick wants his woman, Evie wants to protect her heart. Will Evie relent? Will Kick give up?

Damn. Nina Levine is so good!! Kick and Evie have loved eachother all their lives. They tried but as they got older and life happened, love wasn't enough for these two. They finally come face to face and it is clear both still love eachother but it's just not that simple.

And there was that passion that had been missing before. I fucking loved her passion so even though she was mad at me now, I was on cloud-fucking-nine.

I couldn't hide it, I grinned. And that pissed her off even more.

"What the fuck, kick?" she snapped. We were still in each other's faces and that fact didn't elude me. She hadn't moved away from me.

"I didn't end it, baby. You ended it. Did you forget that?" I said softly.'
I loved kick! He knew what he wanted and he bloody well went after it and wouldn't stop until he got it. He was a hot biker with a filthy mouth..do I need to go on?? ;-) He is loyal and shamelessly loves Evie with every bit of him. One of my favourite things about Kick, is he always has protected Evie, he done it with no second thoughts when they were younger and still does it and always will.
'And I did fucking understand, and it made me fucking angry.
I moved her hand, the one clutching the sheet to hide her body from me. When the sheet fell, I ran a finger across the top of her breasts. With my gaze fixed to hers, I said, "Don't let those bitches from school make you believe you're not beautiful. Just because they told you you're ugly or whatever the fuck they told you, it doesn't make it true. And it's not fucking true, Evie." I leant my face down to whisper kisses over her breasts. When I'd finished, I said, "You're the most beautiful woman I know." '
SIGHHH!!! oh and every time he said baby? I melted and not just my heart either!!
I think Evie is such a strong character and I loved her just as much as I loved Kick. Yes even though she is struggling she is still a strong woman and honestly one of my favourite leading lady characters. Ever. I love them together, on their own they are wonderful, interesting characters but together though they are explosive, hot and hilarious actually. Evie gives as much as she takes, their banter is great and they are simply made for eachother. They bring the best out in each other. They are never more alive than when they are together! I actually loved that Evie was as Filthy mouthed as Kick. I actually loved her a lot more for it.
Right so I have expressed my love for Evie and Kick, not even half of what I could go on about! BUT were there other wonderfully amazing characters? HELL YES! They were also hot bikers. Well done Nina well done. Yes there are so many I am intrigued about, actually I'm intrigued about a lot of the characters! But holy hell KING!! ok so King is the president of Storm MC. So know when you just should not want something. You definitely have no business loving something? Yep that is King and hell it is every type of wrong but I can't help it. I kind of. sort of. LOVE king. If you have read it you'll know what I mean!!
This book is all about what is meant to be will be. The style of writing Nina chose I love and the themes she went with in this book. The loyalty factor that runs in this story speaks volumes to me, I loved it. It's real, and it will be real to so many others too, the fact that your family isn't always blood is something a lot of people know to be true just as the self-doubt theme that runs throughout the book. This was definitely one of my favourite things about the book, because it's something so many of us deal with and the fact that they squashed that self doubt that each had was beautiful as was the little message Nina had at the beginning how amazing! I love and respect her so much for that it was truly amazing. Her writing is superb and you get lost in the story, fall in love with the characters and go on a journey with them!
There isn't a flaw in this book, you couldn't find one even if you tried. I'm excited for the next in this series. Keep an eye out for Nitro's story.
