Hunter Sexton AKA The ghost. If you can't tell by his name he has lived a pretty dangerous life. He has left that life behind to settle into a life between his job and the MC life. He doesn't need any more complications in his life, Complications come int his life in the sassy, ball busting form of new MC chick JB, But with his past and having enough people in his life that can be used against him can he really afford to have this girl in his life?
"My work was dangerous enough. I didn't need to drag a honey into - or into my heart."
JB? oh lord. You are in for a helluva ride with this one! She knows what she wants and she is not afraid to go after it, without any of the BS. She's a bad ass chick, like seriously bad ass to the point of being intimidating seriously, she just owns it. owns everything! I totally love vulnerability in a character, even more so in a female character. Maybe it's because I can relate to that and connect with it more! I'm totally the opposite to JB, so yes I found it hard to connect with her at first but a couple more chapters in and I love and admire her. I think she matches Hunter perfectly. I was afraid that because she was such a strong character that she would be a bitch, the kind that isn't likable but actually she's really lovable and she gives all those bikers a run for their money!

Hunter Sexton is sexy as sin. Oh damn is he ever! He's mysterious and has a danger to him. He is instantly attracted to JB when she walks into the club. Not wanting to put her in danger he tries to fight the attraction but he can't. The more he learns about her the more he wants her. Even after their one night stand they still can't seem to stay out of each others way, always managing to see each other one way or another, Hunter's past life unravels little by little and we soon learn what exactly torments him and has him worried about the people he cares about. I loved the alpha side to Hunter but my favourite part to him was his son, the love and tenderness between the two was so heart melting!
"I couldn't believe I'd missed so much with him. I'd spent too much of his early life out of the picture on the job. I didn't want to be the kind of dad who just called it in. The sound of his laughter, the sight of his smile flip-flopped my heart in my chest."
This can be slightly confusing at the beginning, whilst this can be read as a standalone, I'd highly recommend reading Rie's other MC books. I love getting all the other characters stories and hate missing out on all the little details that make up the characters and the build up of their relationships and stories, so I would recommend reading the others, I haven't, but can't wait to dive into them! It took me a little longer to connect with this book but once I did it's such an easy one to get lost in. JB and Hunter were so hot together, like insanely, off the charts hot as hell but the chemistry and the banter these two characters had was so fun. Rie can write a hell of a strong character that's for sure, I liked all the characters in this story, even the baddies! As much as this story was about Hunter & JB, it was also about friendship and loyalty. All mixed together and you have got yourself a great, great story and now I'm going to read those Carolina Bad Boys books!
