STAY FOR ME INTERVIEW WITH MEGAN SMITH

So I had just finished reading Stay For Me and had all the feels. Emotional!!! So I got straight to asking about Stay for me. Hope you enjoy the interview. :-) 

1)For me, Layla was so strong and so selfless. She had many issues in her life - mostly being caused by Brian *shudder* Did you have to do a lot of research to write the scenes between them two?
A little bit to make sure I got certain facts straight.

2)Oh Eli, well he was certainly a flirter and right charmer. Was he fun to write?
Eli was a lot of fun to write and the more I wrote about him the more I wanted to keep going.

3)This definitely took a different direction to your other books. How shocked do you think your readers will be? 
Readers are going to be shocked but this event that happens also happens in real life. It's not an easy subject, I know this, but it's something I needed to do.

4) I was certainly shocked. Was it a tough decision, to choose that direction, that ending?
Yes and no. Yes because I know a lot of readers will get upset. No because I saw the ending clear as day one morning.

5)Ok, putting Eli and Layla to the side for a minute - Have you anything coming up, that you can tell us about?
I'm working on Made To Love You the fifth book in the Love Series.

6)I loved the finding us series (I need a re-read actually) will we be getting anything from that series anytime soon?
Finding Happiness, Jeremy and Ava's story, will be coming this year.

7) I love how side characters we meet in a book and love get their story too. (They're my favourite kind of series) Do you always know, when you first introduce them into a book, that your going to tell their story?
No not always. I had no intentions on writing about the brother in the Love Series. Readers wanted them so I gave it to them.

8)Do you have any special 'rituals' you do, to get yourself prepared for writing a book?
Music, I have to have a playlist to go with the story.

9) I love music. And I love knowing what music it is that inspires an authors story. Do you listen to music while writing?
Yes, see above. I have to have music blasting in my ears to sit and write. When it's quiet my mind wanders in a hundred different directions.

10) ok, so I was trying to keep it as spoiler free as possible, BUT this needs to be asked.
I get choked up, when I even think about Stay For Me, Every. Time. I feel all the emotions, I feel like I'm grieving. I automatically expected a HEA. never crossed my mind to even question it. I JUST WANT TO HUG ELI!!!. So is that it for him? no HEA?.... It's just cruel!!
We'll have to see what happens in Made To Love You ;)
